What I do
Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Systems
I help guide both clients and project teams to make cost effective and sound engineering solutions that are practical for the building's overall functionality. I act on behalf of the client and collaborate with, but independently from, other project contractors and consultants, to make sure the project's MEP systems meet the stakeholders' requirements. With focused expertise and extensive experience in many international projects, I specially understand the challenges that clients face during the project, as well as the critical importance of overall efficiency of the technical systems in a building.
MEP DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
- Manage client's internal engineering team and work with internal architects, designers and BIM specialists to develop concept design for MEP Design and Construction Works tender package.
- Manage and solve technical issues that come up across construction trades.
- Identify design issues and opportunities for improvement from an engineering perspective.
- Review design development from external consultants against client's MEP standards.
- Verify implementation of local and national building codes into MEP design.
- Collaborate on behalf of the client with project team across disciplines to ensure project budget, timing and quality goals are met.
- Supervise progress on site, quality of installation and present reports to the client.
MEP CONSULTING - CONCEPTS
- Prepare the project's initial estimation of loads and utilities, including potential interface locations requirements.
- Develop MEP System configuration coordinated with other design teams.
- Prepare design report that includes a general description of the project's MEP system and equipment, the preliminary load estimation, initial space planning and conceptual layouts.
VALUE ENGINEERING
Identify and eliminate over-engineered systems to optimize costs.
ENGINEERING REPORTS
- Visual survey all MEP systems in the building
- Highlight any building code deficiencies
- Recommendation for system upgrades with basic cost estimates.
